I thought this course was very helpful. It gave me tips that I had not thought about. The first day of class is very important. I ask my students the first day of class what their expectations are of the class. For the most part they are not sure. That could be because the classes I teach are not core classes. I give them insight as to what I will be teaching them and what I expect from them. I arm them with a syllabus and prospectus so they know what the course is going to look like. Sometimes that overwhelms them to see the entire course mapped out.
