Steven Convey's Book

Steven convey discusses four quadrans to help maximize the use of a persons time. He suggests you break down your activities into the following quadrants:

Important and urgent

Important and not urgent

not important and urgent

Not important and not urgent

You can view a sample of the quadrants at the following link http://www.lcding.com/2011/07/time-management-old-but-simple.html#.UthCgNJDvz4

I used this model and it was very effective in helping me to better manage my time. I even learned how i can sometimes mis catagorize things. e.g. when I first completed the chart I placed my favorite television shows under important and urgent because it was a new episode. The previous week kept me looking forward to the new show I was anxious and made the time for televison. However, in reality this is not important and not urgent. My advise is to not make the same mistakes as I have. Take your time and critically think about the way you manage your time.

Gene,

I too utilize Steven Covey's method of time management. It really helps me focus on what must be done and when. Between juggling work, my school, and family things can get crazy. This allows me to focus on what is important and what can wait. Love the system. Could not live without it.

Sara

I have read this before, but have never actually tried this. I think this concept is worth my time to perfect. Thank you for reminding me this is important.
