<p>I agree with Lisa and Lacey.&nbsp;Perfect attendance awards are good motivators too.&nbsp; This gives average students who hardly or never earn excellent achievement awards a pat on the back for giving importance to being in class 100% of the time.&nbsp; Retention is extremely important.&nbsp;Numbers initially go down during the "weeding out" phase.&nbsp; Subsequently, it is essential for instructors to play a major role in keeping the numbers above the line.&nbsp;</p>
