groupthink

Group think exists when a group is more concerned about consensus rather than doing what is ethical. This usually results in someone being harmed in the workplace. Sherron Watkins, the whistleblower in the Enron scandal is a perfect example (http:)//www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,194927,00.html. Sherron shared in a speech made at Small Business Day in Colorado that after the scandal she could not get a job in  Corporate America; so, doing speaking engagements and writing books was how she sustained herself. Fortunately, there are now laws that protect whistleblowers from employer retaliation (http://jobsearchtech.about.com/cs/labor_laws/a/whistle_blower_2.htm).
