This module reinforced the value of actively participating in faculty and staff meetings, as well as continuing education and training opportunities. Even if I stay current with policies, procedures, and documentation, attending meetings is still essential. They offer real-time updates, foster collaboration across departments, and provide a space to ask questions or share insights that can enhance our admissions strategies.
I’ve learned that meetings often go beyond policy updates—they may include important discussions on institutional changes, admissions tactics, how to handle objections, campus tour techniques, and completing enrollment documentation properly. Participating in these not only improves my effectiveness as an admissions representative but also helps maintain a unified approach across the team.
Going forward, I will make it a priority to attend all required meetings and seek out additional training opportunities, such as those offered by FAPSC or other professional organizations. Staying engaged and informed will help me better serve prospective students and contribute to the success of the admissions department.
