Obviously planning the rollout is imperative. While not educational software, my institution recently rolled out a major software program. It was done very poorly. Not everyone had access to training areas in the system and the trainers seemed intent on showing us all the "bells and whistles" rather than focusing on what each of the individual positions would need to know. It was more of a "top-down" approach rather than an organic one. I found it very chaotic and stressful. Some of our educational technology has been slowly introduced, but so slowly that nobody knows how to use it or has forgotten how by the time it is actually available.
