Walk the Walk, and Talk the Talk
I love the message in this tutorial about modeling the behavior that you want to see in others. We have a professionalism initiative currently in place at my school. One of the most difficult challenges is trying to get all faculty to model the apporpriate behavior--getting to the class 15 minutes early and being the last to leave, getting assignments grade in a timely manner etc.
This is a great reminder to all that you are being watched wether you know it or not. Always hold yourself to the highest expectations, and others will follow.
I agree totally. Someone, somwhere is always assessing your behavior...isn't that what we teach our students.
I make a point to always do things that my students are required to do.
IE.. take out the garbage, not sitting down
