I have just completed ED106 course and di find it quite challenging. I learnt many things that I am sure I will now be able to implement into my class. I had not really paid attention to the many ways you can assess your students especially using online tools. This information is very useful, from this course and even though I teach a mainly hands on subject, I will be able to use some of the ideas I have leernt in this course.

I have found as an Instructor that the most important thing to concentrate on is organization. Sometimes it takes me longer to organize than to actually go through the motions of the class, but it flows better, with good planning. Also as I complete a course I like to make notes on the class to see what was successful and what helped the students learn as opposed to what did not work. It really is an evolving lesson plan that I add to and take away from in order to get the best results.

I have just finished the course ED 105 and although I have been teaching for a while now , realize how valuable the information is in these courses.Planning and organizing course work for students is important but more than that I have leaned that being flexible and alwsy having a back up or plan B ready is critical. Classes do not always go as planned and sometimes you may finish early and need to fill in time, so it is handy to have bonus projects or work relevant to the course that you can add which I find the students… >>>

I have just finished the course and although I have been teaching for a few years now and have many years experience in my career field, I found that I learned a great deal from this course . There are some ideas that I can implement right away in my classes and I really liked the part that mentioned about the slump you sometimes feel during the course where the students seem to be less motivated than at the beginning of the course, I think it is so important to get everyone re-energized and focused back on the course objectives.… >>>
I think one of the most important things we can do as an instructor and also for our own personal growth is to share ideas and skils with one another. This helps us all as an individual and also makes the school or facility you work at stronger and more professional.

Of course student retention is very important and as an instructor , because we have so much contact with the students we have a lot of influence in affecting how well they do and if they will stay on course. There are many things we can do to help the students to iron out problems they may be experiencing. Firstly we have to connect with the students and help them feel comfortable with us so that they want to come to class but also that they feel they can talk to us about any issues they may have. Skills are very important issue when dealing with students.because the diversity,people from different cultures,make more challenging when it came to deal with it , also when we find students with bad attitude.

I really enjoyed the course ,it has given me ideas that I will be able to implement in future classes. I know from experience that it is not always easy to keep to a pre-set lesson plan. I like the idea that the lesson plan is not set in stone but rather evolving.Adding notes to the lesson plan and commenting on what was successful and also items that were not so effective, is very helpful when I teach future classes.
