I learned that the advisor's job is to facilitate, not do the work. The distinction between student-led and student-run finally clicked--students should be leading, but they still need guidance and guardrails. The HOSA line about working harder than your students hit close to home.
I plan to step back and let students take on more responsibility for planning and implementing activities. I also want to advocate for stipends or support for the extra time this role requires. What resources have you found most helpful for managing advisor responsibilities?

I learned that the CTSO advisor’s role is to guide and support students while allowing them to take the lead. Advisors help connect CTSO activities to classroom learning, provide structure, and make sure events run smoothly and safely.
