In this module, I learned how sharing an instructor’s qualifications, professional experience, and relevant achievements can establish credibility and build students’ trust. I also learned that authority is strengthened through clear communication, subject knowledge, and consistent support for students.

I intend to apply this by including a brief professional introduction in my courses and explaining how my experience connects to the learning objectives. I will also share practical examples, set clear expectations, and provide constructive feedback. My goal is to help students feel confident in my guidance and comfortable asking questions and participating.

This module helped me understand that delivering a quality online course involves more than uploading materials. It requires clear learning objectives, well-organized and accessible content, meaningful interaction, and assessments that support student learning. I also learned how the main components of a Course Management System—such as content modules, discussion forums, assignments, quizzes, and gradebooks—help organize the course and monitor students’ progress.

This module has deepened my understanding of how artificial intelligence, and tools like ChatGPT in particular, are transforming the educational landscape. I learned that AI is neither a threat to be avoided nor a solution to be adopted uncritically, but a tool whose value depends on how intentionally we integrate it into teaching and learning. I believe that ChatGPT can be a valuable tool in educational settings, as it facilitates research by providing quick access to information and helping students organize their ideas. However, it also carries potential risks. Beyond concerns about academic dishonesty and overreliance on automated answers, the broader integration of AI into critical systems, such as military and national security infrastructure, raises serious questions about control, accountability, and the consequences of delegating high-stakes decisions to machines.
