Teaching an online course can actually be an opportunity to create a more engaging, interactive experience for your students if you take full advantage of the available technology.

Teachers as Facilitators... This means shifting roles from a lecturer to a facilitator who provides resources, monitors progress and encourages students to problem solve. Teachers reap benefits when they see how excited their students are about applying their knowledge to solve a problem.

In this module I learned that is a significant difference between synchronous and asynchronous learning is instant messaging and immediate feedback. With synchronous learning, learners can receive immediate feedback from their fellow students or teacher through instant messaging. Asynchronous learning doesn't enable that type of interaction

I learned that technology tools can be utilized to improve teaching and learning and help our students be successful. Through the use of learning management systems (LMS) students can access online resources to get assistance on demand beyond the physical reach of their teacher.
