Activity

I like the creation of a FAQ's wiki on my page. This would be greatly helpful and I'm incorporating it. 

 

I like the different methods of evaluation that were shown. 

 

Rubrics are very important as students have clear criteria and objectives. 

 

 

I learned that I cannot simply take the syllabus from my classroom and post it on my page. It needs dynamic components. 

 

That consistency is key. The same font, style, etc help students. Knowing where to find information helps students. The look and design should be the same across the lesson. 

 

We moved to online learning mid semester so we already knew each other and I knew their learning styles and personalities. Next semester, we will be online never having met and I need to be extra mindful of anyone exhibiting noisy behaviors. 

 

Rubrics are important for the discussion thread so everyone has clear expectations of what is expected. 

I like the idea of having the students post bios of themselves with their expectations of me. 

 

We started our semester in the brick and mortar classroom on campus. I have always believed I set the climate in my classroom and remain supportive and approachable. Since transitioning into online learning, my students have needed more of that sense of safety as el-earners. Just as I sometimes am intimidated my new technology so were they, but I kept reassuring them we were all together and I was still there for them just in a different modality.
