Instructors work hard at preparation prior to the first day of class. When developing the lesson plan,  think through the process from the students perspective.  Students need to see the value of the content in relation to the total course. Provide clear instruction regarding the lesson plan for the students. Make sure they understand what is expected even though students are external customers. If there is confusion within the lesson plan, go into details where the confusion is.  Show examples to ease the students who feel they cannot do the lesson plan.
