An effective and active placement department is an integral part of a school's retention plan. When there is an effective placement department the student clearly sees there are other options than dropping out. Students can learn to overcome fear of failure to get a job by learning the skills to get offers

Emphasizing heavily on graduation is important! No one should be that school that didn't appreciate their students on their one day!

This session helped me see the perspective on newer students and their social surroundings. Orientations and the first week should be filled with events, communications, activities, and games to bring in the element for students joining a new school, program, or start of school.

One of the biggest takeaways I took from this , was that student retention begins way before first day of class and each student's solution is different and not a general class sum solution.
