Intellectual interaction requires more than just clicking! 

My key takeaway is that online learning environments require increased written feedback to engage with all students in the absence of opportunities to give feedback more organically through nonverbal communication. Smaller group sizes are more conducive to higher levels of instructor interaction. 

I'm going to improve my online presence by adding a video to my bio instead of just text and a picture. I also appreciate the reminder that participating in asynchronous discussions judiciously is more effective to assert your presence than "taking over" the discussion by responding to each and every post. 

I appreciated the emphasis on the importance of instructor as a support system for the student, even in an online environment. It's important that students feel confident that their instructor is REAL, and responsive to them as individuals. 

I will make a concerted effort to touch base with each one of my students individually at least once over the course of the class.
