Activity

Learning how to deal with different personalities and also, how to help students in different situations when they feel there is no way out and they need to drop out of the course.

Knowing the different learning types are very helpful.  It can help me understand students more.  Also, how to help keep my students engaged and to make sure not to keep a discussion going in a chat box with a group of students

Projecting your presence:

As an instructor I need to make sure that I'm not projecting myself too much and out powering the students.  Day 1 introductions are important, it's a place where the students can learn about the instructors background and the students can learn about each other.

Carolyn, I totally agree with you.  Having the students take a crash course of the CMS before the start of a MOD may help with frustrations during their first week.

What I gained from the first part of this course is to make sure I know the course outline so I can better equip my students with any frustrations or problems they may have.  Making sure that I am available to my students and that I engage with their online learning.
