Maximizing student learning and retention is greatly assisted by varying one's teaching style in order to appeal to all learning styles.

Preparedness is key. For the first day of class, last day of class, and every day in between. Creating a welcoming environment on the first day is key to ensuring student success in the future. There are many ways to accomplish this, depending on class size, including small-group introductions and ice-breakers.

I look forward to preparing a weekly calendar of due dates - for me and my students - and a checklist of my tasks for the week. Preparation is key.

I look forward to implementing the standards of professionalism and "ways of working" set out by my institution. I will commit to crafting a professional development plan and ensuring that my students can expect the highest degree of work ethics from me.
