At some point it can be diffcult working with a studnet who has a learning diffculty, for alot of them espically as an adult does not want to admit infront of their classmates that they have a learning problem, therefore they hide and go with the flow as they say.
When I put my students into groups, I usually have them draw numbers. I will take sticky notes write numbers on them, if I have 12 students in a class I will break down and have 3 groups, so I will take my sticky notes and write 1 on four, 2 on four time, and 3 on four, then I will have the students draw a number and that is the group they will be in.
When I lecture I always move throughout the class room, this way I can tell who is paying attention to the lecture and who is not, the ones who listen will learn dramatically and the ones who do not learn nothing at all.

As I went through the ED 107, I learned that there was more than one way to get students interested in learning and staying active in class, I have changed alot of my way of teaching but I learned that I can alway change and find new ways to help my students learn and stay active in class

I never thought of myself as a facilitator, but I did know and I tried to tell my studnets that as many times that I teach a class that I can always learn from them as well as they learn from me. Sometimes the students just won't believe that as an instructor we can learn from them, that we are suppose to experts at the subjects that we teach.

When I prepare for a new class, I do my best to read the material, take a look at the power points and take my time on the prep if I have the time to do so, I cannot be unprepared, if I am unprepared then I feel that I will not only let my studnets down but also myself. This way if I am prepared then I know what I am doing and I let my studnets believe I know what I am doing even if I don't, and I never let them know that it is the first… >>>

For my students I like to give them a varitey of their testing skills, within their tests and or qizzes I give them some of each type of testing materials, such as multiple choice, matching, and true 7 false, then I have them do a short answer homework assignments which is actually in a essay type of worksheet.
I beleive that students should know where they stand in their learning comprehensive, because when they know where they stand in there assignments shows them not only what they are learning but also it improves there selfestem.

I have just had a class that were mixed learners, 2 of them were auditory and they asked me if they could bring in a tape recorder to listen to lecture,I had 4 others that were hands on, the more book work they could do the happier they were and then the rest visual they had to see the lecture, so I had to comply with different learning styles and as an instructor point of view we had to learn to accept the different learning styles and go with the flow. I always go over the grading scale with my students and let them know that class particaption is 10% of their overall grade and a quiz will be 20% of the overall grade and an exam will be 30% and their final exam is 40%, if they do a project it is usually 30% of their overall grade, then at the middle of the course I go over their grades of where they are at that point in the class, so they have an idea where they stand and what they have to do to either keep their grade where… >>>
