I like the idea of backward chaining, show the students the desired outcome first. Then show the proper steps to achieve that goal.

A great way to relieve stress is laughter. Start the day by watching a short funny movie clip like something from the Three Stooges or maybe listen to a comedy routine on the way to work.

I found it interesting see that some cultures see eye contact as something to avoid, and that focusing our eyes on their shoulders would be an acceptable alternative. i will be keeping my eye on this forum.

The final test is the end all student assessment, but it is also too late to fix any problems that the student may be having.That is why we often use mid term progress reviews.
If you have a student that never answers a question,that may be a sign that he or she needs extra help. You could always offer tutoring to suppliment the students needs.

The more hands on activities the students have the more they seem to retain. Whenever possible I try to have hands on labs in class and out. If we were in the middle of a powerpoint and the bulb burned out I would just switch to a hands on activity to keeps things going smoothly. Demonstrations are also very helpful, if the students see how someting is done the can usually duplicate it.

I see too many times a student's bad attitude getting in the way of his learning. They can't because they think they can't. I was gifted with a positive attitude, lost it for a while and struggled to get it back. Now that it is mine again, I will never let go of it since it changes so much in our lives.
