I need to establish an orientation for our businesses & supervisors. I want the orientation to be quick & simple for the business partners. I am thinking about creating a lesson using Google Slides or PowerPoint so the employer can do it at their convenience and not have to attend another meeting. How do other schools do it?

We have a training agreement in place, but I was hoping to get an example of a training plan?

It is important to be an advocate to your own program. A social media campaign & marketing campaign is huge to get the word out about a program. I am hesitant to do this right now since this is a new program. I will establish social media accounts for our program though and use them to highlight students and employers in the program.

The suggestions on who to include on the advisory committee and where to find the needs of area employers were great ideas! I plan to contact our school board, city council, and county supervisors to see if I can talk about the work-based learning program we will be starting. In addition, I plan to develop my elevator pitch for our work-based learning program.

I learned about the different roles in Work-Based Learning programs and the 3 stages of the work-based learn continum. I am curious about the employer's work-based learning orientation and how that is conducted. In person meeting? A form to be filled out? A one-on-one meeting with the employer by the work-based learning coordinator?
