The non-technical skills (effective communication, community of practice, reading and writing) needed to succeed in an online course are descrbied here. It is important to note that these skills are more important in an online setting than in a traditional F2F setting.

Online instuctors should provide a well-articulated syllabus, specify the requirements for succeeding in the course. Clear instructions should be provided for submitting assignments. In general, students have different approaches to online learning and instructors should be able to identify the strengths and weaknesses of each student. Time management is extremely important in online learning and students should be made aware of it. The instructor should provide adequate resources for students having learning disabilities.

In this module, we were introduced to several programs for dissemnination of information. We were also introduced to the concept of fair-use and copyright.

I learnt about the characteristics of several technological tools which can be integrated into a traditional learning environment
