Activity

Student engagement through the use of technology, flipping the classroom and giving choices to students will increase understanding through varied learning opportunities.

Making students feel like they are missing out if they do not attend class on time and finishing each class with something that makes students want to come back the next day are key practices.

Provide a psychologically safe environment for student questioning.

Think, Pair, Share will definitely work in my classroom environment for thinking through the how and why in the area of tool use. Wait time was an interesting concept to me.

I can often tell when I've used the wrong kind of questioning and am able to follow it up with the right kind.  The classifications in this module help to understand why one type is better or more appropriate for a particular situation.

I've enjoyed working with many students with learning disabilities in my woodworking class. They often perform at higher than average levels with great results.

This is my first time referencing the Harvard videos. I liked the reminder to not leave the majority out in favor of high and low performers.

I liked the breakdown of how to set up groups and manage them effectively.

As a CTE Woodworking teacher in a shop situation, I could not imagine doing anything other than moving around.

After writing many test for my students, I found this module to be very useful. I did find it ironic that the quizzes in these modules often violate the suggestions and rules we just learned about.
