Students often underestimate their ability or capacity to participate and succeed at online coursework. They often mistakenly think online classes will be easy and fast. 

It's important to first assess the student's ability and understanding of using technology, such as attaching files, or saving pdfs. 

It's important to engage students in meaningful communication, taking into consideration the different personalities that each student may have, and working to engage each student.
