Business and industry partners are more likely to participate in advisory and  BILT advisory groups when there are clear expectations set forth. I have found that not only setting timelines to my board members, but also giving them jobs and sharing expectations results in the best committee members.

I will be encouraging my programs across the state to take a closer look at their advisory boards to include not only diversity in the areas that their boards represent, but also into the make up when it comes to size of business, demographics, and abilities
