Motivating and engaging students promotes retention of students. Knowing your students and information about their background can help to keep them engage becasue certain topics will spark their attention and you can use that to draw them in.

Reaching all students including those who may have difficulties or are difficult is a good sign of engagement.

Providing an encouraging and safe environment for learning is a top focus. Ensuring that each day brings added relatable classroom content and methods is what I will continue to strive for.

Being willing to understand where the student in coming from and how they see things is key to knowing how to approach them.  Your able to gain more insight on how to grab their attention while guiding them at the same time.... instead of pushing them away.

Prepare lesson plan that includes different learning styles. Practice demonstrations prior to class.

Lead by example and be willing to learn from those more seasoned than you Or who utilize best practices that show results.
