Activity

As our campus is transitioning from a 2 day on line/3 day in person to a 3 day online/ 2 day in person i found this course study/training very informative and helpful. Going from F2F to On line many basic principles remain the same, i.e. oraganization good communication and prompt feedback as well as mutual engagement will help ensure students success

Prompt and informative feedback is important for the students' confidence and the student-instructor relationship. On line instructors must be prepared to weir many hats to perform their duties appropriately and as always good communication is vital to the success of both students and instructors

Where as communication is essential in either Sync or Async environments, my course of studies dictates that the Asynchronous  learning platform is the best method.

Many tech tools can be utilized such as Blogs, VC wikis etc... and assessing these tools will be essential for optimizing your classrooms learning objectives and enhancing students education process

In my lab/classroom-setting students must wear P.P.E when doing lab work. My ultimate goal as an instructor is to not only provide the basics for their field of choice, but to add "real world application" for the students to be better prepared to enter the workforce.

Safety First; Safety Last; Safety Always.

Competency-based assessments in my field and class setting is done through "affective assessment", labs with worksheets to be graded on their knowledge of such. Utilizing different assessments give the instructor and students a clear understanding of course content retention.

Customized instruction allows adult students to feel more comfortable and confident in relation to course content. It is my belief that most people learn best by aural coupled by visual instruction. The kinesthetic style reinforces the other two styles maximizing the the students education.

The virtual vs actual lab work offers a wide variety of opportunities for todays students, but nothing beats true hands on approach. I see the the true potential to combine these techniques, in my line of work/field.

Competency based education/instructing tends to lead to better prepared student, effectively enhancing their ability for retention and higher learning.

Support materials along with taking notes will enhance your lesson plans/lectures, there-by furthering the engagement of the  students.

Learning objectives, standards and assessments are necessary to help measure the progress of the students.
