In this section, I learned about the seven principles of practice. I confirmed my thoughts of students should be able to learn at their own pace but have guidelines on submissions and deliverables to keep the student engaged. 

I learned that is it important to consider the different learning resources and interactive ways to get the students involved with teaching in an online environment.

It is important to have strong communication skills when teaching online because all of our communication will have electronic or via video conferencing. You have to make sure you grab the students attention with the lecture materials and give positive feedback on submissions. You also have to communicate announcements on a weekly basis to keep the students engaged and reach out when you see the student getting behind.

I learned the importance of preparing the students to take an online course is key to helping you and your students get the desired outcome of the course. I plan to use the readiness questions in my online courses along with the syllabus quiz.
