Michelle, You learn quickly that you can't and shouldn't be a 24/7 online instructor. You deserve the "clocked out" time. You have learned a lot from your experience as an online teacher. Thanks for sharing.

Michael, "Optimal" is a good word to use when describing rubrics. Rubrics should, as you said, provide students with clear guidelines so there is nothing to question. Thanks!
Julie, Thanks for your input. You start off on a positive note and that sets the tone of the feedback. It's important to remember that we are providing feedback to help students succeed. I love that you tie the feedback to the objectives as well. Nice job.
Michelle, Glad you emphasized making connections and engagement. Putting these principles in place has helped me in F2F and online courses. Thanks again.
Emily , Love that word "edge." I love professional development and am glad you see the importance as well. Thanks.

Faith, Thanks for the detail in how your organize your time and duties. This will be beneficial to many other online instructors. Nice job. You have learned a lot in your time as an online instructor.
Emily , You are very generous. I do not give my students my personal number. I have the 24 hour rule and I stick with it and I also have a FAQ bulletin board for posting any questions any time and give extra credit to students who answer each other's questions. That works for me. Thanks!

Emily , Checking email twice a day is a good system. Many instructor check every hour or 10 times per day and that's really not necessary. A 24 hour policy is standard. Nice job.
Lisa, I do too. I think students feel more like they are a part of a class and not just a number when you address them their name. It's just professional. Thanks!

Emily , I read the other day that To Do Lists are one way people avoid reflecting on what they have done. ;-) Maybe that's why I make so many lists. Get it done and move one. ;-) But, we do have to reflect on what we have done and how well it was done. Thanks!
