Jo Ann, You brought up some excellent things to think about. The needs assessment is a component people forget about. They just put a course together because the can. . .not becuase it's necessary. I have seen research that has said that it takes approximately 15 hours to put 1 hour of online instruction online. It it time consuming. Nice job.
Sherrilyn, Even though you are not developing your own courses, it is AWESOME that you are involved in the process. This establishes good communication between the instructor and developer and helps course be developed to meet everyone's needs. Thanks!
Sherrilyn, Totally agree. Begin with positive feedback, add some constructive criticism if needed, and be specific. The frequency/timeliness is many times the hard thing to do, but so important. Thanks!

Sherrilyn, Right on! the feedback must be consistent and timely. Communication is the key to success in any environment, but particularly in the online environment. Thanks for your input.

Catherine, Yes, it helps the students tremendously, but also helps the instructor ensure the objectives are being measured and that they are evaluating consistently. Thanks!

Catherine, Thank you for the thoughtful response on this forum. The things you are doing to reach different generations are very helpful and will assist others in doing the same. I agree totally about taking away the "fear factor." Nice job.

Sherrilyn, Thanks for your input. Knowing the subject matter and providing the course outcomes/expectations to students is essential. Knowing the student population helps you better determine how to deliver the content. Thanks again.
Ms. Melendrez, Yes, sarcasm and jokes do not translate well in an online environment. Thanks!

Ms. Melendrez, Do you use rubrics? If so, how have they helped you?
