Allen, I'm glad you mentioned the subjectivity and objectivity. Right on! It's important to assess students consistently. It does help the instructor and students. Thanks!

Stephen, Yes, the thing people forget is that it helps both the instructor and the students. Thanks for including that.
Rose, It is wonderful that you are self-assessing after your online session. That's when everything is fresh in your head and you can reflect quickly as well. Thanks for your input.
Rose, Thank you again for your input. Being clear, specific and complete are essential. Many times (depending on how many students you have) being prompt is hard, but you are correct in that it too is very important. I like the comments about being positive and helping students improve. That's what it's all about.

Rose, Good advice. Thank you. So much of what you are saying comes out of good communication. Nice job.

Michelle, I agree that communication has to be done in various ways and I like that you note the "cookie cutter" approach will not work. That's the same with anything we do as teachers. Providing content, communication, etc. in a variety of ways is best for everyone involved. Thanks!

Gregory, Having the "end" in mine is totally related to your course outcomes and making sure you communicate the expectations to the students. Also, as you noted - relating it to the real world and to their lives is essential. Nice job.

Scott, Thanks for picking up on what William said. When there is any way to eliminate confusion, it's good for everyone. I like the teaching philosophy of see it, do it, teach it. The students first see a demonstration, then they do it and then they teach someone else how to do it. Thanks!

Sharon, You are right on with road map. The main think I want instructors to understand is that the rubric helps both the instructor and students. Thank you for reiterating this.

Sharon, I like the way you said it - "it does influence the way we see the world." Keep the communication going. Thanks again for you input in these forums.
