Faith, Good list! Knowing your audience in any situation is important, but especially important when you audience includes your students. Connecting their learning to the real world engages them even more. Nice job.

George , The key is to remember that the rubric helps the students and instructor. Both benefit.

George , Very true. We learn from our differences. (I have posted this several times, but it keeps coming back that I have not posted a response, so I'll keep trying.)
Richard, Good point to use a variety of assessment tools. I like pre-tests and post-tests so that students can see their growth in learning. Thanks!

George , Thanks for your input and for continuing the conversation. Everyone doesn't fall into nat little "categories" so it's great you have developed questions that meet your needs. It's good to get to know your audience - the students. Thanks again.
George , Thanks for your thoughts and continuing the conversation. I like the old saying as well and keeping your communication frequent and meaningful as well is helpful. Thanks!

Linda, The main thing to remember about rubrics is that they help both the instructor and the students. Keep using them and keep connecting them to the learning outcomes. Thanks for your input.
George, You are right on target. We have to know what the students have and what they can/cannot use. There is a small learning curve for some, but large for others. Thanks for your input.
