Bruce, Like that idea. Have a "technology" night and let them all ask questions in a synchronous environment. Good thought.
Colleen, Excellent. You have brought up many things to think about and I like your "consideration" list. You are right that online students may be doing the bare minimum and we have to help keep them motivated and provide them with easy tools to use. Thanks!

Dr. Vicki, Right on. The rubric should help us be more consistent in our evaluation of the students' work. And, remember, we are not evaluating the students, but their work. ;-)

Dr. Vicki, You bring up some very good points. The main thing is that we try to understand our audience and our audience is our students. Thanks!
Dr. Vicki, Yes, as we serve as role models, we demonstrate what we expect from our students. Professionalism is key!
Dr. Vicki, And the conversation continues - thank you! We do have to be careful not to make assumptions about the students skills. Thanks!
Cheryl, Nice job. You are right on target with your comments. Thanks for emphasizing being concise, clear and quick in the feedback.

Cheryl, You are so right! Students do appreciate clear, timely feedback. It helps them improve. Nice job.
Tina, It's just nice to think about letting students be involved in the rubric development process. I typically do a couple of assignments and provide rubrics and then when it comes to the big project, I involve students in the rubric development process. That way, they've already seen a few rubrics and are more familiar with them before they start to create one themselves (which I typically let them do as a group and then we compare the groups and make one for the class). Thanks again for your input.
Tina, Thanks for the Web links. It's always fun to find new things online. Nice job.
