Perry , Yes, begin fair in your grading is important. Using rubrics will help you be more objective and fair in your grading. That will benefit you and your students.
Perry , Meaningful feedback does need to be individualized, constructive, positive, etc. Formative and summative assessments are both important in the process. Thanks for your additions to this forum.

Perry , Yes, I agree. Clarity is important in helping the students understand the expectations and reach the learning outcomes. Thanks for your input.

Perry , Repetition is good. Accessibility is important to provide students the opportunity to learn on their own time and through many technology tools to help them achieve the learning objectives. Nice job.

Perry and Eryn, Thanks for continuing the conversation. Navigation is so important. If students can't find information or don't know where to submit assignment, etc., they won't be able to reach the learning outcomes. Nice job.

Perry , Thanks for the great addition to this forum. You are right on track and it's so true that we need to gt to know our students - our audience - to help them improve. Thanks for your input.
Discussion Comment
Colleen, We simply have to understand our audience and our audience is our students. You are so right. Thanks for your input.
Kathleen, Love the "C" words: clear, consistent, constructive, concise, etc. Nice job. Thanks again.
Colleen, The "pattern" is the key. I also give students samples of what is a good response on a discussion board and I use a rubric to assess their postings. A student's posting must stimulate more conversation. Thanks for your input.
