Heather, Clear communication and clear expectations are a must. When students get the rubric before the assignment, it provides time to review the guidelines. Nice job.
Heather, Super. It's good to keep learning, isn't it. What fun. ;0 Take care.

megan, Time management, priority management and setting the rules/regulations for communication are essential. Nice job.
Heather, Simplicity follows along with being concise and clear in your communication. Right on! We many times do have to break that communication down into understandable chunks. Thanks for your input.
Natalie, Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Every school has different policies so it would be imperative to think about this. Nice job.
Heather, Have you tried Remind 101? It's an app in which you can set up, students can sign up for and then you develop the message and send once and it is texted to all students. Time saver!

Leyann, You bring up a very good point. We have to know how much content is appropriate and how deep we can go into the content. This also is an important thing to think about if this is a prerequisite course or if this is a capstone course. Thanks for your input.
Julie, Me too. I love learning and I think all teaches should realize that it really is a lifelong process - just as the students need to continue to learn and learn and learn. Thanks!

Julie, Sounds like you have a process that works for you. Just note, if you respond within a couple of hours, the students will continue to expect that and then when you don't they may become frustrated. Remember your 24-48 hour rule so you don't become a 24-7 instructor.
Julie, I let the students post FAQs and give extra credit to other students who answer the questions correctly and completely. I tell students NOT to email me, but post the question on the FAQ. It helps a lot.
