Earl, I love the mid-way check-ins. I think this is imporant. I too watch the BBoard statistics to see if students have logged into the course a dn how long they stayed in the course. Then, send out "reminders" to check in. Thanks for your input.

Lindsay, The multiple accounts and tasks and the combination of F2F and online courses can become overwhelming. Establishing those time management guidelines will help. Thanks.
maryln, I try to connect my announcements with the syllabus as well. The expectations should be in the syllabus as well. Sounds like you have a plan that is working for you in your course. Nice job.
Earl, Glad you are getting some good things out of this module. As you are looking for content over formatting, you are doing the right thing. Thanks!
John, I can only imagine how helpful the videos and study guides are for your students. Thanks for sharing your ideas.
Katherine, Email goes a long way. I typically send a "test" email to make sure all students are receiving email so there aren't any issues later in the course. Thanks for your ideas.
BRIGITTE , I like to provide students with rubrics and use them on the first few assignments and then let them actually develop a rubric for an upcoming assignment and work together to make it the best rubric as possible. Thanks for your input.
Craig, A four week course has to be intense. You bring up a good point about how much you can involve students in the rubric development process in various couses. Thanks!
BRIGITTE , You hit the nail on the head. Things have to be clear, criteria has to be on target and they have to be connected to the learning outcomes. Thanks!
