Shirley, Thanks for your input. You describe the things that are essential to reaching all students in your courses. Nice job.
Edwin, Thanks for adding to the first part of your posting the types of students you typically have in your classes. When you have students who have never taken online courses before, clear communication is especially important. The objectives, assignments, and how they will be assessed must all be included and clear to students. They need to know what is expected of them and how they will be assessed to see if they met the expectations. Thanks again.
Shrese, Yes, we can provide many of these in the syllabus or in a quick "Start Here" location on the LMS or course Website. Nice job.
Laurie, Right on! You have the "C" words and they are right on target -- consistency, concise, and we can add clear and communication. Nice job.
Christen, Excellent! This is basically the stop-start-continue feedback we want from students. You can do this during the course as formative feedback as well. Thanks for sharing.

Christen, You'll find some others who do use the telephone as well. We all find the communication tools that work for us, but you are right we have to be timely in our feedback/answers to students. Thanks!
Christen, It's great that you are archiving the weekly chats for students who cannot make it to the chats or for remediation. Nice job and thanks for sharing.
Christen, I'm a "list maker" as well. We have to stay on track to help keep our students on track. Thanks for your input.

Kurt, No only do they "develop" the objectives/criteria, they help the students understand those things and understand what is expected of them. Thanks again.

Christopher, Yes, AND rubrics help the instructors as well. Don't forget about that. Thank you.
