Barbara, The announcements and all the communication we do with students help them understand the course content better. The Word document you discuss is excellent as well. This will benefit students. Nice job.

James, And, we can also ask students simply to tell us how to make the rubric better. Thanks for your input in this forum.
Melinda , It's all in the criteria. You can have a rubric about writing components, grammar/spelling, and form or format. I use rubrics all the time in business communication to assess their letters and reports.
James, Right on. The more we stress this and that the criteria have to be just right, the more we understand simple things we can to do help improve our rubrics. Thanks!
Sandra, Nice bulleted list. Thanks for the link to additional information as well. We continue to learn from each other. I'll add this to my list of things to review.
Ava, Good descriptions. Concise, but complete and your descriptions will help others understand as well. Nice job.

Melinda , Excellent. You are requiring the students to take some responsibility in reviewing the rubric and understanding the expectations. Great!

James, Rubrics do help students understand the requirements/learning objectives/expectations, etc. Any tool we can use to do this is important in the online environment. Thanks!
Discussion Comment
James, The fact that you noted positive feedback can be provided through the use of rubrics is excellent. Thanks for using rubrics and giving students great, meaningful feedback.
Frances and Stephanie, We have to be consistent in upholding the rules/regulations/policies in the course. Students are like our children and when they break a rule there will be a consequence and then you need to follow through. Thanks!
