Vimlarani, You are even introducing gaming with your students. I bet they enjoy that. Your list provides that you are giving students lots of options for assessment. Nice job.

Barbara, Sounds like you are doing a lot of emailing and you may be able to benefit from the Frequently Asked Questions discussion board where you and students can answers others' questions. It may save you some time. Thanks!

Vimlarani, Good rules for others to follow and implement in their courses and communication with students. Nice job.

Vimlarani, Obviously there can be some misunderstandings in written communication - especially email. We have to keep it all professional and communication well. Thanks for your input.

Vimlarani, We do have to say no sometimes to maintain our balance. I definitely like my phone calendar to help me stay on task and meet deadlines as a good instructor. Thanks!
Barbara, Good question. I tell my students I (or another student) will answer the discussion board FAQ within 24 hours if it is posted Sunday - Thursday. If anything is posted Friday or Saturday, it may not be answered until Monday. We all deserve a break and shouldn't become 24-7 online instructors. I even did some research with my students and they said it made no difference in their learning if I answered in 1 hour or 24 hours. Something to think about.
Vimlarani, I agree. We should help them understand the pros/cons, but also what they can do to become better online learners and let then know we are there to facilitate their learning. Thanks!

Vimlarani, It's not only time management, but priority management as well. You mention so many things for us to think about. Thanks for your input.
Vimlarani, Right on! Time plus energy equals learning. That time and energy is a combination between the instructor and students. Thanks for your input.
Vimlarani, I like your statement about "many roads lead to learn." We need to travel those many roads and help students travel at their own pace, but end up reaching the objectives. Nice job.
