James, You bring up some great points. We do have to support students and make sure they can use the necessary software. Alleviating as much technology anxiety as possible, it a great thing. Thanks for your input.
Deborah, I love learning and professional development is a great way to do that! Thanks!

Sandra, Current events and connecting content to to real life examples are excellent ways to engage the students in the learning process. Thanks!
Deborah, Great questions to ask. I use the Start, Stop, Continue methods. I ask "What should I start doing?" "What should I stop doing?" and "What should I continue to do?" If I can't stop doing what they request, I tell them why. I typically cannot stop doing something if it connects directly to the learning objectives. But, we have to explain that.
Peter, This technique makes it more personalized and positive to start the assessment process. Thanks!
Donna, I also try to call students by name to help them feel like they are a person and not just another number in a large online course. Keep it up!
Deborah and Donald, Relaxed is good, but students must still be engaged in the learning process. Thanks for continuing the conversation.

Katrina, I think they are pretty equal in how they help students and instructors. They all benefit from this great tool.

Tomi, Yes, they are kind of a checklist, but so much more. The criteria and connection to the objectives enhance the rubric's importance. Thanks!
