Letrice, We do have to plan prior to "whipping up" a rubric. The criteria are essential as well. We want the students to understand the expectations, not be confused. Nice job.
Antonio, Good idea. We have to develop those things we can use over again to help students improve their learning. Nice job.
Mark, Absolutely. We have to look within before we can assume something outside will help. Nice job.
Michael, Love that saying - and many times I think I am insane. Ha! Thanks for your continued input in these forums.
Michael, You're discussing meaningful feedback from the students and that's good, but how would you develop meaningful feedback to give to the students on an assignment, project, etc.? Thanks!

Michael, I agree with the continual communication - the best that you can. I do tell the students there is ONE of me and over 200 of them (that's my load), so they tend to understand if the communication is not constant. Thanks!

Mark, The 24 hour rule is common. How do you stop ALL emails receive a response. If they say thank you do you say your welcome, etc.?
Discussion Comment
Mark, Good idea. Don't become a 24-7 "email checker." You have to shut down. I actually put in my syllabus when I check email and Blackboard - specific times throughout the day - not all day long. I also have students use the FAQ Discussion Board instead of emailing me all questions pertaining to the course. That's very helpful. Hope this is helpful.
Mark, We do have to block off time for lots of things when we teach online, but having that set ahead of time helps us stay on task. Prioritizing is the key! Nice job.

Antonio, Your schedule can provide food for thought for others. Thanks.
