Expectations should be clear and set high.  Communication must stay in effect between instructor and student.  Prevent procrastination.  Encourage and praise student's work as appropriate.

Online learning will be easier for some than others depending on the amount of prior computer/network exposure a student has.  There are many websites to assist the online learner, but they require the student to incorporate their use.

Community of practice is important to facilitate online learning.  Mutual respect should be demonstrated by all members of the online community.  The instructor should use bullet points and be very clear with messages and expectations.

Encouraging students is important.  Allow accommodation for disabilities as well.
