Activity

Reflective thinking takes time and patience. One must consider the different options, weigh the pros and cons of each option, and seek additional information to make informed decisions.

Critical thinking is not inherent. It is a process that is learned and developed over time. When presenting information to students in the classroom, less is more. Too much information about a topic can cause them to tune out.

Discussion
It is crucial that all faculty and staff understand students' rights and protections under FERPA.

There are many factors to consider when trying to implement a flipped classroom. It is imperative to get your PD and administrators involved in the process. The flipped classroom approach transforms student learning and the way we teach. The focus is on content mastery.

Flipping the classroom is an interesting idea. I am going to look into it further.

I love the concept of the flipped classroom. The key to this is getting the students to read their assigned chapters and watch course videos before class. I have explained to them that this will allow more time in class for learning activities. Perhaps some of you have implemented this successfully in your course. How did you motivate them?

I like the concept of the flipped classroom. This frees up more time for us to assess what students have learned outside of class and gives us time during class to provide extra help/instruction to those who need it.

By learning new ways to teach course material, students will be more attentive, engaged, and more apt to remember tough concepts.

I have had similar situations in my classroom. Luckily, we also have desktop computers students can use.

This course has provided insight into the various ways technology can be implemented in the classroom to foster student learning and engagement.
