Instructors must stay proactive in their students activities in-order to identify early if their is a conflict of time, technical issue, overwork or alienation. All student have learning personalities, and some will become distractions to the class if not handled early.

Engaging students is the key to their success and course comprehension. Asynchronous is the way to go with a group of students; synchronous is real time and reserved for one on one.

Empowering students by allowing them to present who they are and why they are here. It is always good to show your credibility to teach this course to them by telling your academic credentials and prof of experience. 

Know the structure of our distance learning environment is key to our instructors success and cutting down on student frustration. Know the CMS and resources for our students will help cut down on their frustrations as well. Good tech support and student support is key.
