Really evaluating question styles and planning for students to ask and create quality questions and being comfortable with that in the classroom promotes deeper and more meaningful learning. 

Simply transferring what you would do in person to an online platform doesn’t make a class engaging. Students will be frustrated because they know this would work better in a classroom. However, expanding the learning experience through online possibilities that are not available in the physical room is what makes online learning so powerful. 

 

I have used ChatGPT in class to offer students ways to organize and get started with their writing. Sometimes students use the platform to give them ideas for ways to develop their argument or to ask for direction with where to look for good research on a topic. It is not without its pitfalls, though, and I worry about what a technology like this being available for them does to their ability to push through hard moments and have the grit and tenacity to keep trying to find answers to their questions or help with their writing wen they are… >>>

I have learned that I need to utilize online tools since so much of the world has basically been in an experiment through Covid-19 and at-home learning, and we have learned a lot about how students connect with effective online tools. We need to lean in and use what is great instead of resisting the way things are going with technology. I am interested in trying to use the Anylogic Simulation Software that was given as an example. I think many students can get a lot from something like this. I would be interested in if anyone has used it… >>>
