Students are not considered customers.

As Instructors, we must remove barriers.

What is the best way to describe it?

I teach nursing skills which I first provid a overview about the skills then I demonstrate it. I asked them do they have any questions.  I see students learn best after they are given a understanding the importance of the skills.

Reply to Omar Muneeb's post:  checking off a student skill is very effective for learning because both psychomotor and cognitive are working hand and hand. It also increases student affective status after they have mastered the skill.

Applying it will be implemented by focusing on the skills.

I learned that the Cognitive domain is the biggest part of competency-based learning but affect and psychomotor do matter.

Objectives are to board in competency-based learning

Using decoding methods by breaking down information will help with students retention and decreasing frustration.

When learning new information one must find the relevance of information learned or the information can not be applied and therefore cast away or save in storage until it can be applied,

What I've learned to be successful is providing the rational at the begining of the course.  This will show them that they can be successful in the workforce by doing these techniques.
