It certainly does make one wonder when college advertising mirrors political campaigns. It is unnecessary, in my opinion, and as the material suggests, it ultimately negatively impacts the program. It is very similar to gossiping in high school. Integrity and creditability matter and at the end of the day it is those principals that secure and retain staff, faculty, and learners. As we are transitioning in society and within our academic institutions, it remains imperative that the correct information is presented so that learners can make informed decisions as they seek to change their careers and life. It is sad that there have been those who have used misleading tactics to promote programs. It is even more alarming when the individuals were unaware of that their actions were negligent or non-compliant/illegal. It is important to have information regarding guidelines and changes to those guidelines readily accessible for prospective students, current students, and faculty and staff.

I feel that it is extremely crucial for an academic institution, or any place of business for that matter, to have integrity as their foundation and guiding tool in the manner in which they conduct themselves. Compliance ensures that there is a uniform set of guidelines that each institution must follow to protect the rights of the learners, the employees, and the quality of education being provided. It is rather unfortunate that there have been institutions who have acted with greed and poor intentions with respect to misleading their learners.
