Protocols are inportant when listing the proper way in which students are to participate, and these are best captured with specific rules and expectations in the Syllabus as well as class Rubrics.

Providing an opportunity time and again for student feedback on the communication loop is critical in sustaining your online course activity.

Laying out your course & organizing by modules allows one to put in one place all materials, assessments, and interactions.  I’ve realized the importance of complementing my LMS with that of a discussion board for more group like Q & A!

The syllabus should be the first place or point of reference when associating your LMS with your objectives.

What I found interesting is in how while both Asynchronous & Synchronous learning have pros & cons, asynchronous is designed for self-learning in a constructivist theory type of environment.

I've learned that the importance of technological tools in virtual learning are only effective if you're able to address all students in the class in "leveling" playing field.

One should consider formative as well as summative feedback from students and the community, to include but not limited to, deployment, methodology, pedagogy & chunking style.

A teacher should provide feedback with video content that helps the student visualize the constructive criticism and/or comments.

One big takeaway from this is in how students must benefit from your LMS by "learning with the technology rather than learning from the technology"
