The Leading with Generative AI course helped me understand how generative AI can be a powerful tool for enhancing creativity, efficiency, and decision-making when used responsibly. I now see AI not just as a technology, but as a collaborative partner that can support innovation across teams and projects. One key takeaway is the importance of aligning AI use with clear goals and ethical standards to ensure it's applied thoughtfully. I plan to use these insights to encourage my team to explore AI tools while fostering a culture of responsible experimentation and continuous learning.

Have to research what is the community need, costs, interest, etc. Otherwise you are just wasting time and money in starting a new program that does not have the opportunity for grads to obtain jobs or for that matter enroll into the new program.

Knowing you competition, speaking to potential employers, and analysing the need for this new program.

One of the most important steps in creating new programs is conducting thorough research. It's essential to determine if there's a genuine need, rather than relying solely on the opinions of a few potential students or employees. Developing programs requires significant time and financial investment, so it's crucial to do your due diligence. This will increase the likelihood of creating a program that is both successful and sustainable.

It is unfortunate that the times are changing and the government takes so long to keep up with it. E-learning has been around for years now, yet we still have so many people no quite understanding how it works properly in regards to copyrighting. I have a better understanding of how copyrights work as an educator. It can be challenging to understand the verbiage at times when you are not a lawyer.

Having members that engage is very important. Just being on the board, especially for small institutions, is simply a waste of time. Having these members that bring the energy, vital information, and are truly looking to improve the education of the future employees (most likely within the same said community) is truly a win-win situation.

Advisory boards are a great way to stay abreast of the upcoming and changes that are happening in the industry. They also are a good source to ensure that the schools curricula are teaching the students skills that employers are seeking. The boards are giving us a great view and can suggests ideas to improve the students experience and education overall.
