I was reminded of the importance and effectiveness of pre-assessments.  Identifying where a student is academically helps predict the level of support they may need and allows the instruction to tailor instruction more effectively.  Another topic I found particularly interesting was the consideration of online testing as open-book assignments, which I support.  When combined with scenario-based questions, this approach can discourage cheating while still promoting critical thinking and application of knowledge

Reviewing this course has reconnected the importance of a the syllabus and the overall detailed introduction to the course, ready-ness and engagement. Encouraging the student to buy into their training, creating value for the student

As an educator you must continue to be mindful of your role as a model, manager, motivator and building trust only enhances the learning environment. Success/effectiveness is achieved by also being a student
