Students tend to procrastinate more with online learning. As instructors we need to be aware and try to identify students' communication preferences and utilize them all if necessary. 

As others have mentioned learning the difference between synchronous and asynchronous is essential. Additionally, staying active and participating with students in discussion can engage them more and encourage them to be active in the learning experience. 

I learned a great way to interact and gain student trust is through engagement and interaction in discussions. Additionally, providing student information on our experience and credentials can be beneficial as well. 

I found this course showed that structure and support are essential in e-learning. Having strategies planned in advance to provide support and structure are essential for students. As an instructor I know I need ot have a full understanding of the systems used for instruction so I can provide the best learning experience for my students.
